About
Gabriel Bacich, better known as gBa, is a Croatian–Brazilian YouTuber and former professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player. He was listed among the world’s best 1v1 players on the Challengermode platform, having won more than 300 tournaments.
Career
At the age of ten, through his cousin, he had his first contact with CS:GO, a game in which he would later become a professional.
As a professional player, gBa had his first CS:GO “team” called Zonia, in which he formed and brought together four other friends to play in online championships.
gBa called the team Zonia, in honor of Amazonia (Amazon Rainforest, located in Brazil), because at the time (August 2019), there was a massive fire in the forest, and the smoke from the fire could be seen throughout the country.
gBa’s objective was to win championships with big prizes to carry out campaigns to combat deforestation in the Amazon Rainforest.
Zonia won two amateur championships in 2020, and, unfortunately, the players distanced themselves and didn’t participate in any championships again.
From 2021 until November 2022, gBa participated in 1v1 (one-on-one) tournaments on the Challengermode platform. He was on the list of the best 1v1 players in the world on the platform, having reached 30th place with over 300 tournaments won.
Since December 2022, gBa had been without a team. His main focus was to find a new team to join and compete in championships. While seeking this opportunity, he continued to dedicate himself intensely to training, aiming to improve his skills and prepare for future competitions.
According to a post on gBa’s Instagram Story on April 7, 2024, he shared a delicate situation related to his Steam account. He revealed that his account was temporarily blocked for security reasons due to suspicions of unauthorized access. After several attempts to contact the platform’s support, gBa expressed frustration with the lack of effective response, highlighting the inadequacy of the service provided. In his own words, he described the experience as “terrible support”. Furthermore, he announced his decision to completely distance himself from Steam and Counter-Strike as a direct consequence of this incident. During this setback, he left an intriguing hint by mentioning a “Big announcement coming soon”, leaving his followers eager for more details about his next career move.
On 12 November 2025, gBa announced on his Instagram Story that, after further attempts to continue as a professional player in another scene (game and platform not mentioned) without the expected outcome, he had rediscovered his vocation and will return to content creation on YouTube in 2026, focusing on Grand Theft Auto VI. In the emotional passage of the post, he recalled that his thirst for competition dates back to childhood, when he won swimming championships, and that the dream of esports was born from combining that competitive spirit with the pleasure of playing. Today, his passion for content creation is rekindled, reviving a childhood dream inspired by the major personalities of YouTube who influenced him.
gBa began his YouTube journey with his first channel in 2014, recording Minecraft videos (a game he started playing in 2012 on the MCPvP server, which featured the famous Hunger Games/Battle Royale game mode) and intends to release videos on the channel gBa – GTA VI from 2026.
Although gBa does not post frequently on Instagram, he is on the platform under the username @gabrielbacich.
